The WSOP Circuit Planet Hollywood found a champion in Fernando Galvan this time who topped an impressive field of 845 to win WSOP Circuit Planet Hollywood Main Event and took home $247,160 for his 1st place finish. He defeated Corey Hochman from Phoenix, AZ in the heads-up battle who walked away with a hefty $152,734 for his 2nd place finish.
After Chris Tham from San Francisco went out in 3rd place for $112,503, it was heads-up between Galvan and Hochman. While Galvan had a huge lead, Hochman came back strongly. However, Hochman could not keep the massive comeback alive, as he lost the momentum and became a short stack. On the last hand, Galvan picked up Queens when Hochman who had As- 3d lost the heads-up play.
As for Galvan, his first Circuit ring pushed him to over $450,000 in the live cash earnings, and he now holds a huge bankroll to pursue his coveted goal of establishing himself as a professional poker player.
