Seminole Hard Rock’s latest re-entry event -$360 Ultimate Reentry at Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open attracted a huge field of 3,570 runners and ended with a multi-way deal where seven players turned $360 into a more than $50,000 payday. However, the most profitable player was the Miami resident Francois Zayas, who walked away with a whopping $107,793 for his grand victory in this event. Zayas’ best cash before this was $8,000. Six of his competitors took home between $52,661 and $85,481.
“It was awesome,” Zayas told tournament reporters. “I ran good since Day 1 and today I ran like a god.”
The tournament had eight starting flights across four days with $500,000 guaranteed, which was easily surpassed as the prize pool for this event went up over $1 million. A few notables who missed out on the cut after Day 2 included the likes of Hard Rock Ambassador Loni Harwood, Jonathan Hilton, and Josh Beckley.
The heads-up play between the champion Zayas from Miami and Daniel Taylor began after Song O was eliminated in the 3rd place. In heads-up battle, both players decided to make a deal based on their chip counts. Zayas ended up the game winning the title and getting lion’s share of the prize money, while Taylor walked away with $85,481 for his efforts.
