Yesterday, PartyPoker announced that they have signed up Isaac Haxton as their latest pro. Haxton who holds $16 million in live cashes and sits at 21st place on the Hendon Mob’s all-time money list has joined PartyPoker’s star-studded pro team, which includes the likes of the popular Fedor Holz, Jason Koon, Sam Trickett, Kristen Bicknell, Dzmitry Urbanovich, and Patrick Leonard.
With Haxton signing, PartyPoker can arguably lay claim to having the most talented stable of sponsored pros in the world. With Jason Mercier and Vanessa Selbst recently parting ways with Pokerstars, it can be said that PartyPoker now has a more talented group of pros than Pokerstars.
Talking about this new alliance, Haxton said, “I am very excited to be joining the PartyPoker team. I’ve been very impressed with their growth over the last year or so. From expanding their online cash game and tournament offerings to improving their software, and most of all rolling out their ambitious and innovative live events program, their commitment to growing the game and providing a great product for their players has been clear”….”I’m truly proud to represent the company, which I believe is going to be the future of poker, online and live.” He further added.
Commenting on this new development, Partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters, said,”We are delighted that Isaac is joining us at PartyPoker. Isaac’s profile and experience makes him a perfect ambassador for the company. Over the years he has also demonstrated a real commitment to principles and will play a key role in helping us meet and exceed player expectations.”
Aleksandr Shevelev Leads Final 14 in WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship
The Russian player Aleksandr Shevelev leads the final 14 after Day 3 of the ongoing WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open Championship being hosted at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The player moves into Day 4 with a huge chip stack of 3.965 million.
Shevelev climbed to the top of the chip stacks for Day 3 because of the 2 major pots he won. He first doubled through Curt Kohlberg during the 23rd level of play. In the next level, he then got a big double up through Darryll Fish.
Later on, Shevelev told WPT staff that he played big pots and had good cards running his way. He also admitted that he does not play live poker so frequently but finds it very interesting whenever he does.
The player has a little over $22,000 in live tournament winnings. Being one of the 14 survivors in the WPT Lucky Hearts, the player has locked up a minimum cash of $31,989 from the event.
The 14 remaining players will return to the host casino to contend for a seat in the official six-handed final table, which is slated to be played on Wednesday. The tournament’s champion will receive a first-place prize of $511,604, which also includes a seat into the WPT Tournament of Champions.
