The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Main Event that was running in Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam has wrapped up successfully with the Vietnamese player Dang Xuan Canh winning the coveted title. Canh battled it for 3 days over a field of 499 players and beat them all to take home the first place prize of VND 1,636,720,000 (INR 48.96 Lac) along with the APT Championship trophy and the APT ring for his win.
It was the biggest live cash for Canh. His first major live poker cash came a few months back when he finished 3rd in the APL (Asia Poker League) Vietnam Main Event for $ 29,250. This year has been amazing for him and once again he has shown his skills finishing first for his career-best live cash.
Several Indian players took part in this event including Devesh Thapar, Sumit Sapra, and Ravi Priya. While Sapra and Priya reached Day 2 but they could not progress beyond. Thapar kept India’s hope for the title alive but unfortunately finished 13th for VND 115,410,000 (INR 3.40 Lac).
A total of VND 9.68 Billion (INR 2.87 Crores) prize pool was created and it was distributed among 84 players with the lion’s share VND 1,636,720,000 (INR 48.96 Lac) going to the winner – Canh.
