The mecca for poker – Las Vegas is heating-up with poker action with the 2018 prestigious World Series of Poker (WSOP) running at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Poker players from all across the world are battling it hard for the much-coveted bracelets and life-changing prizes out there.
Vegas for sure has got poker players going crazy with a plethora of mind-blowing tournaments running along with the WSOP 2018. One exciting tournament was the recently-concluded Zynga Poker WPT500 Las Vegas. Held at Aria Resort and Casino, the $570 buy-in event had 9 starting flights along with Day 2 and Day 3 leading up to the finale. After 9 days of action, Kyriakos Papadopoulos won it earning the coveted title, the trophy, and the hefty $207,940 in top prize.
Papadopoulos started the final table as the chip leader and extended his lead further winning some big pots. Moving into heads-up, he took a huge lead over his heads-up mate Bobby Poe who finished runner-up after his Qc 9c lost to Papadopoulos’s Ks Jc on the final hand where the board ran Ah 2h 2d 6d 5c. A king high won it for Papadopoulos for $207,940 in the top prizemoney.
Team India
Again, it was a proud moment for the Indian poker community as three of our Indians cashed in this event. Harshil Dhingra ran deepest among them finishing close to the final table in 12th place for an impressive $16,450 (INR 11.30 Lac). Adda52 Team Pro Kunal Patni finished 16th for $10,740 (INR 7.38 Lac), while Jasven Saigal ended his run in 116th for $1,900 (INR 1.30 Lac).
