One of the world’s most popular brands in the poker world is the World Poker Tour (WPT). They have already gained a global reputation for not only hosting international poker tournaments but also broadcasting the final table action from various prestigious tournaments in their year-long WPT television show, which is globally viewed and enjoyed in over 150 countries.
In May 2017, the World Poker Tour announced that they would be expanding thier presence in the Asian region. Taking this forward, they eventually partnered with India’s largest poker site – Adda52.com to host their inaugural WPT India series, which took place from 7th to 13th November 2017 at India’s luxurious casino – Deltin Royale, Goa. The inaugural edition proved to be a grand success, attracting over 1400 entries with 527 entries in the Main Event alone. The Main Event ran from 10th to 13th November 2017 and found a winner in Vikas Mantri, who took down the coveted title for a whopping INR 60,30,000 after beating Arjun Arora in an interesting heads-up battle.

Capitalizing on the roaring success of their inaugural edition in 2017, the World Poker Tour has now announced the second edition of WPT India series for the year 2018. Yesterday, the WPT added two more stops with WPT Vietnam and WPT India for their 2018 season in the Asia-Pacific region. The WPT Vietnam series will run from 26th September 2018 to 4th October 2018 at Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh, while WPT India festival will be taking place from 13th to 19th November 2018 at Deltin Royale casino in Goa, in partnership with India’s largest poker site – Adda52.com.

What is there in store for you in WPT India 2018?
The WPT India 2018 will include the Main Event, which features INR 55,000 buy-in and is scheduled for 16th to 19th November this year. There are 7 side events with 6 being the same as last year – Kickoff, Superstack, Bounty, SHIP IT, High Roller and the Turbo event. The one new side event on the schedule is Shootout/6 Max NLH event, which will be replacing last year’s Omaha event.
