The 2018 Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila series is currently underway at the PokerStars Live Manila poker room. The popular series had a whopping ₱40 Million GTD (~INR 5.18 crore) that was crushed yesterday. Along with the huge prizes, 5 Platinum Passes (worth $30,000 each) to be won.
One of the key highlights of the series is the APPT National. The event had a massive ₱5 Million guarantee that was crushed with 829 entries coming into this event and taking the total prize pool to a mammoth PHP 21,711,510 (INR 2.82 crore). Out of 829 entries, 230 players made it to Day 2 of the APPT National yesterday. Of these, there were 18 players from India, as we reported yesterday.
All 230 survivors came out to battle it out on Day 2 of the event for the top prize ₱4,559,000 and the coveted Platinum Pass. The action was fast-paced on Day 2. Eliminations came a bit quickly and by the day end, only 34 players remained and moved into Day 3. Out of these, there are two Indians, namely Akshay Nasa and Jasven Saigal who won the DPT 15K Deep Dive at DPT July 2018.
As mentioned, yesterday a total of 18 Indians made it to Day 2 of APPT National. While Akshay and Jasven are still there in the race for the title, 16 Indians have busted the tournament. Some of them have hit the rail empty-handed, while some have managed to finish in the money. Among those who have made money in this event include Vidwath Shetty – (43rd for PHP 87,000), Amanpreet Singh – (49th for PHP 78,000), Abhinav Iyer – (52nd for PHP 78,000), Zarvan Tumboli – (71st for PHP 69,000) and the DPT February 2018 High Roller Event champion Alok Birewar – ( 73rd for PHP 65,000).
All 34 players will be returning for Day 3 play and they all will be eyeing the top prize of PHP 4,559,000 (~INR 58.99 Lac) and the $30k PSPC Platinum Pass. The current chip leader for Day 3 is the local boy Redentor Edoc holding 1,680,000 in chips, while India’s Akshay Nasa is sitting in 4th place.
