‘Now I am looking forward to the Godfather Europe SNG’: Last Night’s Godfather, Aditya Sushant

India’s largest poker site – Adda52.com hosts several poker tournament on Thursday. One of the flagship events taking place every Thursday night at 8 PM is Godfather, which promises INR 20 Lac at just INR 5500 buy-in. The winner of the event receives a ticket to the INR 10 Lac Europe SNG Finale.

Yesterday’s tournament saw a huge field of 471 entries, which comfortably beat the guarantee and created a prize pool of INR 23,55,005. A total of 27 players were paid out a minimum cash of INR 14,130 and the man who won the event was India’s WSOP bracelet winner, Aditya Sushant aka ‘A_Sushant’, who earlier this year created waves for winning Adda52 Millions back-to-back.

The Chennai pro, Sushant bested a tough field and a tougher final table that included the likes of Manesh Rathod aka ‘TEAMfromHELL’ and Akshay Nasa aka ‘vibaks’ to win the top prize of INR 6,12,300 along with a ticket to the 10 Lac Europe SNG final on adda52.com to be played on Sunday at 4 pm where all the winners of Godfather 4.0 will come together for their chance to fly to Europe.

 With Sushant winning last night’s Godfather 4.0, the table for the Godfather Europe SNG is set with  vivek94540, sweatmyass13, Alex52, APB1989, nerdguy, realkidsanju, Ikkvr and ‘A_Sushant’. The winner of this SNG will get to play the the €10,350 Main Event in Rozvadov this October.

Sushant’s journey in this tournament was amazing. He held the chip lead for the majority of the tournament. He became the chip leader early on and then lost it. He came back strongly and took the chip lead again with around two final tables left and then never let it go. The key hand of the tournament came when he coolered Nasa on the final table when he had Aces against Nasa’s AKs.

For Sushant, winning a tournament is nothing new, as the Chennai pro already holds numerous online cashes and this win has just added to his poker achievements. He is one of the best poker players in India and has several notable scores in his name. From chopping the Sunday Million to winning a WSOP bracelet for India, he has done it all on the felts. He holds 6^th place in India’s All Time Money List with  a massive $532,976 in the total live earnings. His best live cash came just last year when he won the WSOP 2017 Tag Team Event to get the first gold bracelet for India.

In this tournament, Sushant beat Sanjeeta Kumari aka ‘realkidsanju’ in heads-up where he began as the chip leader. The heads-up did not last long as Sushant was the massive chip lead. While ‘realkidsanju’ got lucky and managed to double-up once, but that was it. On the last hand of the tournament, ‘realkidsanju’ shoved with Ac 7d and A_Sushant called with Jc Jh. The board ran out 10s Qc Kh 6s 2d where Sushant’s pocket Jacks won him the coveted pot and the tournament.

OPN caught up with Sushant after his win. He said, “I am happy to have won this tournament for the first time. Structure is pretty great. It has a good mix of pros and recreationals. Now I am looking forward to the 10 Lac Europe SNG.” Talking about his future plans in live and online poker, he said, “For live, just a couple of trips. Planning Vietnam, Goa and maybe, Rozvadov. Online is just the usual”.

Giving advice for newcomers, he said, “Work hard and the results will come. No substitute for hard work.”
