Delta Corporation’s stunning casino – Deltin Denzong, which opened up in the state of Sikkim back in January 2017, is going to host its inaugural tournament series ‘Deltin Poker Tournament Xpress’ (DPTX), the first of its kind event, which is set to take place from 27th September to 30th September within the confines of Hotel Denzong Residency in the state capital, Gangtok.
Recently in July 2018, Delta Corp’s flagship poker festival – Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) drew a massive participation with over 1100 entries and wrapped up successfully in Goa with Awnish Singh winning the Main Event title taking home over INR 35 Lac for his top-notch performance.
After the success of DPT July edition, the brand is now gearing up to give players yet another dose of poker action with DPT Xpress starting next month on 27th September at Deltin Denzong in Sikkim. The poker series promises something for everyone with a variety of exciting events. There are 4 tournaments on schedule with buy-ins starting from INR 5,000 and going up to INR 15,000.
The first of its kind DPT Xpress series kicks off with ‘Burn N Turn’ on 27th September, Thursday at 7 PM followed by a 10K Bounty Nuggets event on 28th September, Friday at 4 PM. Headlining the poker series will be the Main Event, which features a normal INR 15,000 buy-in and takes place on 29th September, Saturday at 6 PM. The series concludes on 30th September, Sunday in style with some exciting events when players will be given options to play a Teams event, a Heads-up Event or a Satellite event for the November 2018 edition of World Poker Tour (WPT) India.
And hold on!! The DPT Xpress is not just about tournaments, as some exciting cash game action is also expected to take place during the tournaments. That is not all, the series organizers are also giving some crazy ‘Play N Stay’ offers to get players a smooth passage and accommodation at the event. Adding to the delight, there will be live steaming for the 10K Bounty and 15K Main Event.
It is going to be a fun tournament series at Deltin Denzong located in front of Mt. Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world, which makes the casino a perfect poker destination. It is set in a beautiful locale, which means players can enjoy their time visiting some lovely places in Gangtok.
The Business Head of Poker at Deltin Royale, Manish Adnani, told OPN, “DPT has evolved as a product over the past 28 months since its inception in early 2016. Back then we just had one series the Deltin Poker Tournament which attracted regulars, pros and all kinds of recreational players. As the fabric and the space has evolved, we felt the need to have a Super High Roller series which took shape in the form of DPT Colossus in April this year clearly dissecting the High rollers from the rest of the pack. Having said this, there are players who do play cash games at least 3-4 times a week in A, B and C cities but never make it out of the closet to a DPT event as they generally don’t land up playing live tournaments primarily due to high buy-ins and the standard of the game with the pros and regs participating in these player fields. DPT Xpress is specially designed to get these players out of their closets giving them a taste of tournament experience with spectacular destination like Sikkim with exciting cash games.”
