India’s largest poker site – adda52.com hosts several high-value tournaments on Sundays. One of the most popular and biggest tourneys on this past Sunday was Adda52 Millions, a 20 Lac GTD event at INR 11K buy-in, which went on to become a grand success with a total of 215 entries and took the total prize pool to a hefty INR 21,50,000, which was distributed among top 18 players.
Outlasting the strong field was once again was Saravanan S aka ‘SIDDHU24’, who beat Devang Yadav aka ‘spark123’ in heads-up to complete two consecutive wins of this prestigious event! With this, Saravanan equalled the record of India’s WSOP bracelet winner – Aditya Sushant, who earlier this year won the same tournament back-to-back. Interestingly, both players come from Chennai.
Saravanan has not just impressed on the virtual felts but he has also grabbed eyeballs on the live felts. Recently in April, he won High Roller title at Baadshah Gaming Live Tournament series in Goa.
The last hand of this tournament came with blinds running 30,000-60,000 when the eventual winner ‘SIDDHU24’ holding Ac As moved all-in and his heads-up mate ‘spark123’ holding Qs 8s made the call. The board ran out 4s 3c 6h 6d 3d where ‘SIDDHU24’ made two pairs to take down the event.
The last few few weeks have been amazing for Saravanan as he also finished up 2nd runner-up in Saturday Adda and Beast tourneys. Later, he followed up these scores with big wins by shipping Adda52 Millions back-to-back. He picked up his grand score by winning the first Adda52 Millions on 26th August and this past Sunday he completed his 2nd Adda52 Millions win, taking home INR 7.5 Lac both times. Most of the top pros find it difficult to beat the tough field in this tournament, but Saravanan has done it twice, which is obviously a big achievement and a huge boost to his bankroll.
OPN caught up with Saravanan to know about his win, his journey and future plans. Here are the excerpts:
OPN: Twice is always nice! How does it feel to ship Adda52 Millions back-to-back?
Saravanan: “It always feels great shipping back to back, especially a tourney like this.”
OPN: How was the field? And how was your overall experience in the tournament?
Saravanan: “The field was quite tough but my patience gave me the winning. It always feels excited to play Adda52 Millions as it is a well-structured tourney.”
OPN: Please share your tournament journey. Any special hands or moments from the tourney?
Saravanan: The journey was almost smooth. My heads-up opponent ‘spark123’ had huge chip advantage, but I played only for the good cards. Also, one time I had A-A and he had Kings, which gave me a double up. Very soon, I became chip leader and there was no looking back.
OPN: After these consecutive wins, what are your future plans in live and online poker?
Saravanan: Right now, there is no specific plan. I will continue playing online on adda52.com.
