Team India is on a roll at the ongoing APT Vietnam Kickoff being hosted at the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City. Yesterday, India’s Abhinav Iyer won his biggest live cash of VND 2,269,092,000 (INR 69.51 Lac) by shipping APT Vietnam Main Event. Another event to conclude yesterday was the APT Vietnam High Rollers where Indian challengers Dhaval Mudgal and Baadshah Gaming’s Madhav ‘Maddy’ Gupta shined, finishing 3rd and 4th respectively. Mudgal earned a hefty cash prize of VND 534,621,000 (INR 16.39 Lac), while Gupta took home a prize of VND 386,147,000 (INR 11.84 Lac).
Vietnam seems to be Mudgal’s favourite hunting ground as he had also hit headlines for winning WPT Vietnam Main Event here in October 2018. Now he is back in the news for his 3rd place in the APT Vietnam High Rollers event that featured a buy-in of VND 53,750,000 ( around INR 1.64 Lac).
Meherzad Munsaf and Vinod Megalmani were also in the mix. They also ran deep and made it to Day 2 in the event but they exited the tournament before the money bubble without cashing it out.
Iori Yogo, the Japanese pro who had won the APT Finale Championships Event last month, also made it to the final table in the tournament, finishing 7th for VND 176,984,000 in the prizemoney.
A total of 15 places were paid in the event with the largest share of the prizepool going to the Vietnamese pro Binh Van Ngoc, who won the tournament for VND 1,153,551,000 ( around INR 35.36 Lac). This win was Ngoc’s best live score and it took his total live earnings to over $54k.
