Team India is shining at the 2019 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam, which kicked off on 9th January and will run till 20th January at the Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh City. The team got off to a good start with 3 Indians, namely Vishal Tajpuria, Shravan Chhabria and Meherzad Munsaf cashing in the opening event – Monster Stack. Running alongside the final day of the Monster Stack was the highlight event of the series – Main Event where 6 of our Indian players have progressed into Day 2.
The Main Event has 3 starting flights. The first of its starting flight (Day 1A) took place yesterday and drew a 104 entries. The VND 22 million (INR 66,600) buy-in event featuring a guarantee of VND 8 billion (INR 2.42 Crores) will see its next two starting flights today (Day 1B) and tomorrow (Day 1C).
As mentioned, Day 1A of the event drew 105 entries with 42 runners entering Day 2. Leading the survivors is local talent Pham Dinh Nam (125,300). Team India is faring well with six of our Indian players progressing into Day 2 play. India’s first WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant is 11th in chip counts with a 88,600 stack. He also entered the Monster Stack in the series but failed to finish in the money. Other Indians include Akash Malik (56,600 chips), Nishant Sharma (54,900 chips), Eka Vedantham ( 46,100 chips), Siddharth Jain (36,200 chips) and Siddharth Kapoor (9,500 chips).
The Day 2 of the event will start on January 13 and the event will run till the last day of the event – January 15 where a champion will be crowned. Keep following Online Poker News for updates!
