Yesterday we reported about Vinod Megalmani finishing 5th for A$13,485 in the Terminator and Aditya Sushant scoring a 25th place finish for A$ 2,410 in the Hyper Turbo. Now Indian challengers are rocking at the prestigious 2019 Aussie Millions Main Event with 3 of them making Day 3.
The A$ 10,600 Main Event drew a record-breaking field with 822 entries across its 3 starting flights. Out of these entries, 430 runners were in action on Day 2, including four Indians Raghav Bansal (114,000), Paawan Bansal (49,000), Vinod Megalmani (32,300) and Aditya Sushant (29,900). They had entered Day 2 from Day 1C (total of 364 entries) where Cole Swannack (208,200) emerged as the chip leader. Raghav had the biggest stack but he unfortunately exited before the end of Day 2.
However, all the other three Indians progressed into Day 3 of the event. A total of 169 players remain in contention and they all will return for Day 3 play tomorrow at the Crown Melbourne.
Leading the 169 survivors into Day 3 is Pim de Goede (413,000). He holds over $816,047 in live poker tournament earnings till date. He had scored his best live cash back in 2011 when he had taken down the EPT 8-Max NLH Event for a hefty $ 296,846. Indian challengers Aditya Sushant and Paawan Bansal have bagged decent stacks, holding 292,800 and 197,300 in chips respectively. Other Indian to make Day 3 is Vinod Megalmani and he has bagged a stack of 29,500. All these players are pretty serious ones and we hope they chip up and dominate on Day 3 of the event.
As mentioned above, the main event drew a record 822 entries, which generated a whopping A$ 8,220,000 in prizepool. Top 88 players are to be paid out in this event. Each of the final tablists is guaranteed at least A$242,000 with A$1,850,000 going to the eventual winner. While the minimum payout is A$15,600 (around INR 7.99 Lac), Indians will be eyeing the bigger prizes on offer.
