Yesterday was a big day on Adda52 with its flagship tournament – 20 Lac GTD Adda52 Millions taking place. The INR 11K buy-in online tournament that also featured 50% TDS refund for all ITMs drew a total of 184 entries. Outlasting the field once again was Chandan Arora aka ‘darkfish15’, who had won the same event in August 2018. Arora pocketed INR 4,55,731 for his win yesterday’s Millions.
When it comes to 6-max tournaments, Arora is one of the best online poker players. He has already cashed 6-max tournaments multiple times. This victory was his 2nd Adda52 Millions win, 7th final table and his 3rd chop. Most recently, he finished in 7th and 2nd places in the same tournament.
The 2nd to finish in the tournament was ‘Rohan8760’ who played well but couldn’t go all the way, finishing runner-up and earning INR 4,40,269 after a heads-up deal with Arora. It was not an easy win for Arora as the final table featured some tough regs in Shravan Chhabria aka ‘sweatmyass13’ (4th for INR 1,80,000), Pranav Khandalkar aka ‘pkpok’ (5th for INR 1,25,000), and Goonjan Mall aka ‘gmtesting’ (6th for INR 90,000). Arjanveer Singh Chadha aka ‘arjan30’ finished 7th for INR 75K.
Top 19 finishers were paid out with a min-cash of INR 20K. Some well-known regs to cash were Pranay Chawla aka ‘setmeup’- 8th for INR 55K, Vikas Shah aka ‘Vicky0809’ – 12th for INR 34K, Devang Yadav aka ‘spark123’- 17th for INR 20K and Ankur Sehgal aka ‘Aceleration’ – 18th for INR 20K.
Post his win, we spoke to the winner Chandan Arora, who seemed very happy about his win and said, “Hands down, Adda52 Millions is the best tournament on the Indian felts. I have always loved its structure – 6-max and deep. This was my 7th FT and 3rd Chop. Kudos to Adda52 for such a great tourney”.
Talking about his journey, he said, “I think, the hand which catapulted me to FT was during last two tables. Alok opened from CO (I guess) and I 3-bet him with KK followed by a 4-bet shove from him with JJ for 50 bigs and boom I knew I got this. Standard hand but you need to get lucky in these spots.”
Talking about his run over last one year, he said, “I took one year break from work last year. And I have been fortunate enough to make it count. Hopefully, the hard work I put in everyday will take me to much greater heights. And the way Poker scene is booming in India, I think, we are all in for a treat.”
