The 2019 US Poker Open (USPO) is racing towards to its conclusion with just three more days left. Several events of the series currently underway at the ARIA Resort and Casino have wrapped up. Yesterday saw the Event#7 – $25,000 NLHE, which drew a total of 60 runners. After his intense long battles, it was Bryn Kenney who eventually won the title and took home $450,000 in top prize.
Kenney is a well-known American poker player. He is currently ranked 7th in the United States All Time Money list with around $27,092,106 in total live earnings. This grand win was his second major title of the year 2019. Early this year, he had shipped the 2019 Aussie Millions Main Event title, taking home an impressive A$ 1,272,598 ($914,617) in top prize. This latest win marked Kenney’s second cash at the ongoing series after his 10th place finish in the opening Event #1 – $10K NLH.
Kenney got off to a good start by eliminating Nick Petrangelo in sixth place. Petrangelo held jack-six against Kenney’s king-eight. The turn brought a king and Kenney made a top pair to win the pot.
Not long after Keith Tilston eliminated Nick Schulman in fifth place, Kenney turned around and busted Keith Tilston in fourth place with his pocket treys holding up against Tilston’s ace-jack.
Kenney’s next victim was Ben Yu who had started the final table as the chip leader. Yu had 10d 6d and Kenney held Qs Js. The latter rivered flush, ending Yu’s run in third place for $210,000.
The heads-up started between Jack Schindler and Kenney. While the former battled it hard, but could not go all the way eventually finishing runner-up for $300,000. The last hand saw Kenney with Kd Jc and Schindler Ac 7d. The board was 2d 9c Kh 2h 8s where Kenney sealed it for $450,000.
