The 2019 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown (SHRPS) $570 buy-in NLH deepstack re-entry event drew a massive field of 2,958 entries, surpassing $1 million guarantee to create a final prize pool of $1,479,000. In the end, it was Nick Ahamdi who won the event for $209,977 and his first live title.
Ahmadi entered the final day as fifth in chips with 10 players remaining. The tournament was scheduled for April 4 – 7, but play continued for an extra day due to the massive turnout.
Ahmadi scored his first elimination on the final day when Mohammed Tarkmani shoved all-in with Qh 10h and he called all-in with his Kc Qc .The board came down Qd 3c 2d 8s 5d and Tarkmani got eliminated in seventh place, earning $42,891 for his deep run.
Thereafter, Ahmadi survived to 3-handed play as one of the shortest stacks. Jeff Kessler had bagged over 41 million after knocking Allan Bieler in fourth place for $91,328, while Robert Pollmeier had around 12.6 million against 4.8 million of Ahmadi. However, Ahmadi scored a double up through Kessler to stack up. Ahmadi then doubled up again through Kessler to leave him as the short stack. Thereafter, Kessler shoved his Ad 2h and was called by pocket sixes of Ahmadi. The pocket sixes held up and Kessler was knocked out in third place for $108,780 and then it was heads-up between Ahmadi and Pollmeier.
Both players struck a HU deal that saw them chop the remaining prize pool evenly, each earning $209,977. Ahmadi earned the trophy and the title, as he had a slight lead at the time of deal.
