Yesterday saw Adda52 hosting its flagship tournament – 20 Lac GTD Adda52 Millions. The 11K buy-in tournament drew a strong field of 191 entries, which included several top pros, regs and some past winners. Topping the field was once again Mumbai’s Ankur Sehgal aka ‘Aceleration’ who beat Shubham Singla aka ‘shabbaking’ in heads-up to ship his third Adda52 Millions. Sehgal took home INR 4,70,812 for his victory after a heads-up deal with Singla who pocketed INR 4,25,188.
On his way to the third Millions win last night, Sehgal outlasted a tough final table that had some solid players in Kanishka Samant (3rd for INR 2,54,000), Siddarth Singhvi (4th for INR 1,80,000) and Rajat Sharma who exited the tournament in 6th place, taking home INR 90,000 for his deep run.
Some notables to finish deep in the event included Sahil Mahboobani (9th for INR 45,000), Raman Gujral (11th for INR 37,000), Eka Vedantham (16th for INR 20,000), last night’s Mega Suits winner Willson Yomso (18th for INR 20,000) and Adda52 Team Pro – Tarun Goyal (19th for INR 20,000).
Ankur Sehgal is a known name in the Indian poker circuit and has several big wins in his name. It was not his first win on Adda52 as the player has already taken down several popular tournaments. Last night, he shipped Adda52 Millions for a third time within a span of just 5 months. With his 3rd Millions win, he joined esteemed company of Shravan Chhabria, Aditya Sushant, Nishant Sharma, Akshay Nasa & Adda52 Team Pro Kunal Patni, who have won Millions multiple times.
Post his third Adda52 Millions win, we got in touch with the online grinder – Sehgal and he said, “Shipping Adda52 Millions twice in a month and third time in 5 months feels truly amazing!”
Talking about the field and his overall experience in the tournament, Sehgal said, “Playing Adda52 Millions is always amazing! The deep structure and 6-max format suits my game play and I always enjoy the challenge of playing against the regs as I go deep in the tourney.”
Sharing his final table experience, the player said, “I won a couple of crucial pots on the final table, which put me in the driver’s seat and then it was pretty much smooth sailing from there on.”
When asked about his plans for ‘Poker Mania’ starting today, he said, “It sounds like fun. I guess, I will late-register in a few flights and see how it goes. These low buy-in high GTD tournaments are amazing for the growing poker eco-system in India. Hats off to Adda52 for taking such initiatives.”
