Sundays are always big on India’s No.1 Poker Site – Adda52 and yesterday was no exception. They hosted two major online poker tournaments for poker enthusiasts, with a handful of these walking away with big prizes. Adda52 started the day with its Big Slick, a 20 Lac GTD tourney at just INR 2,200. Mega Suits was the biggest highlight of the day with INR 25 Lac GTD at INR 5,500 buy-in.
20 Lac GTD Big Slick
The first major tournament on Sunday was Big Slick, which started at 5 PM. It was ‘xxbajxx’ who won it to take home INR 3,52,520 as the first-place prize. He beat ‘crazy_coyote’ in heads-up and a tough overall field to ship the event. The final table included the likes of Rafi Khan aka ‘rehan_k’ (3rd for INR 1,85,651), Naresh Rathnam aka ‘FireExit’ (4th for INR 1,34,727), Manish Lakhotia aka ‘newkidpoker’ (6th for INR 70,953) and Jaydeep Dawer aka ‘Armageddon’ (8th for INR 37,367).
‘xxbajxx’ beat a field of 920 entries in the INR 2,200 buy-in event. Top 98 finishers were paid out with min-cashes starting from INR 6,863. xxbajxx is a regular on Add52. His/her online record includes plenty of final table finishes and more than a dozen of wins in small-mid buy-in online tournaments.
Although, the player has cashed several popular events like Gayle Storm, Mega Suits, Godfather and Millions, last night’s win in Big Slick was by far his/her biggest online cash. He/she not only won the top prizemoney of INR 3,52,520 but also secured a seat to a June’s SNG tournament where the winners of Big Slick and Mega Suits will come out together to play for 5 Lac Manila Poker Package.
25 Lac GTD Mega Suits
The biggest tournament of the day was 25 Lac GTD Mega Suits. The INR 5,500 buy-in tournament started at 8 PM and attracted a total field of 465 entries. The player to ship this event was none other than Danish Shaikh aka ‘King0fMerge’ who took home INR 6,12,500 as the first-place prize.
Shaikh beat ‘vb42’ in heads-up to secure Mega Suits win. The final table had some tough regs in Gaurav Sood (3rd for INR 2,50,000), Raman Gujral (4th for INR 1,87,500), Anirban D Das (5th for INR 1,25,000), Chirag Sodha (6th for INR 87,500) and Rubin Labroo who finished 8th for INR 56,250.
Top 49 places were paid with a min-cash of INR 13,750. Some notables to finish deep were Kavish Kukreja (13th for INR 25,000), Rajat Sharma (14th for INR 25K) and Jasven Saigal (15th for INR 25K).
Post his Mega Suits win, we contacted the eventual winner Shaikh and he said, “It feels good. It is a great tourney. Adda52 has great tournament structures and gives ample room to actually play poker.”
Talking about the field in last night’s Mega Suits tournament, Shaikh said, “The field was good as there were bunch of decent players. Gaurav Sood played really well. He was impressive enough.”
Well-known for his back-to-back DOPT High Roller and Super High Roller wins on Adda52, Shaikh has plenty of online cashes and wins under his belt. It was he who had won the very first Godfather. He is also among one of few players to have won Adda52 Millions three times. Some of his other notable scores on adda52.com include his win in Hitman, OneTime and Whale tourneys. Last night, he added one more score to his poker resume by winning his first Mega Suits.
