The much-awaited online poker tournament – 1 Crore GTD The Mighty One finally kicked off on July 4 at 8PM. Day 1A, the first of the three starting flights of the inaugural event, drew a healthy turnout with a total of 1,005 entries (including 395 re-entries), creating a hefty INR 25,12,506 in prizepool. With two more starting flights still to go, the tournament is expected to smash its INR 1 Crore guarantee as we expect bigger fields across the next 2 flights – Day 1B today and Day 1C tomorrow.
Following 30 levels of play, Day 1A ended with just 83 players advancing to the final day on 7th July at 5 PM. Avneesh Munjal aka ‘IamAM’ bagged a massive stack of 807,159 in chips. He was the only one to cross 800k mark and will be leading all the Day 1A 83 survivors into the Final Day of The Mighty One. Following him in second and third places were Mohak Puri (531,407) and Wilson Yomso (487,148). The other big stacks to progress were Yohan Patel (399,454), and Rajat Sharma (390,269). The talented pro Sahil Agarwal ended among the top 10 stacks with 330,187.
Some other notables regs to progress from Day 1A were Chandan Arora (24th – 213,844), Manish Lakhotia (205,254), Anuj Kumar Kodam (35th -182,494), Naresh Rathnam (48th – 162,272) and the well-known online grinder ‘King0fMerge’ who ended the day with a stack of 47,858 chips.
The second starting flight of the event – Day 1B will begin today at 8 pm on adda52.com and a much bigger turnout is expected for the second flight. Players, who have already qualified from Day 1A, can also join Day 1B and Day 1C in a bid to take forward a better stack to the Final Day on 7th July.
