And it is over! Pranay P Mungekar wins the DPT 15K Deep Dive NLH event. The player outlasted a strong field of 294 entries, which included many top pros and regs. Coming into Day 2 as the 6th largest stack, he played some solid aggressive poker and went on to eliminate several players during the day. At the FT, he scored his first elimination by busting Abhishek Sharma (8th place) and then went on to eliminate Anand Babu (5th place) to further extend his stack into 4-handed play.
Two levels later, he then busted Samit Mehta in 3rd place to take the chip lead into heads-up against Mitang Soni who fought well but could not go all the way, eventually finishing runner-up for INR 6,90,000. The last hand saw Mitang Soni shove for 2.8 million with Jh Qh and Pranay call with Ah 5h. The board ran 10d 9s 3d 6h 4h where Pranay sealed the win to earn his the title, the trophy and the top prize of INR 10 Lac. Yesterday saw Day 1 of the DPT 15K Deep Dive NLH and a total of 294 entries were registered on the day. Of those, only 26 players survived from the Day 1 and they will be returning to the felts shortly to battle it out for the title and the top prize of INR 10,00,000 here at the Deltin Royale, Goa.
Varun Vohra will start the day as the chip leader with a stack of 597,000. Mitang Soni (558,000) is second in chips, while Abhishek Sharma (514,000) starts third in chips. Some notables in contention include Shravan Chhabria (477,000), Avinash Tauro (216,000), Sangeeth Mohan (203,000) and Deepak Raina ( 148,000). Each of the players among the 26 runners is guaranteed at least INR 33,000, but they all have their eyes on the top prize of a hefty INR 10,00,000.
Yesterday, play was paused at level 19 and today players start from where they left off, which was level 19, with blinds at 8k-16k and BB ante of 16k. Today, play will continue until the winner is crowned. It kicks off at 2pm in a while from now and we will be here with you to bring live updates!
