The Big Wrap, one of the biggest PLO festivals in Europe concluded a couple of days ago at the King’s Casino and Resort in Rozvadov. While the second edition of the festival running from September 9-16 featured a total of seven tournaments on its schedule, the biggest highlight of the series was its €2,350 buy-in The Big Wrap Main Event that registered 474 entries from two starting flights. The top 55 finishers earned a portion of the guaranteed €1,000,000 prize pool. The largest share went to Turkey’s Adon Ursu who came on top to win the coveted title for his career-best €200,000.
The eventual champion Ursu began the final day 5th in chips among the 28 players and quickly made his way to the top. He started the FT in style by scoring back-to-back eliminations in Victor Nalim (8th) and Pawel Keller (7th) and took the control. Keeping his momentum going, he then busted Sergey Verkhoturov (6th), Borritoo (4th), Tomasz Kozub (3rd) and eventually Veton Raka in heads-up.
Ursu began heads-up with a massive chip lead of 30.70 Million in chips against Raka’s 16.90 Million. The heads-up lasted only one hand and it saw Raka with Js 10s 8d 5d and Ursu with Ac As 4h 3c. The board ran out 8h 6d 2s 9s Kh, busting Raka in second place and giving Ursu the Main Event title.

India’s Manish Goenka Finished 16th in The Big Wrap Warm-up PLO
The Big Wrap PLO series had kicked off on September 9 with its €550 The Big Wrap Warmup PLO. The opening event drew a total of 362 entries from three starting flights and only 72 managed to advance to Day 2. Among the 72 survivors, there were three Indians – Manish Goenka, Ankit Kapoor and Vinay Rajpal. While Kapoor and Rajpal exited the event empty-handed, the co-founder of The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) – Goenka ran deep and eventually finished 16th for €2,522 (INR 2 Lac).
The Big Wrap Warmup PLO eventually found a champion in Hungarian pro Richard Toth who already holds a WPT title and a WSOPC gold ring to his name. Toth entered a 4-way deal with Indian-origin Paresh Doshi (runner-up), Manfred Ronacher and ‘NEUK1’ before he won the title for €33,395 in top prize. With his latest win, he took his live tournament earnings to a hefty $1,648,751.
