‘It feels really nice shipping it for the first time after a couple of FT finishes’: Gaurav Sood,Godfather XI Winner

Thursday was an action-packed day on adda52.com with several high-value tournaments taking place. The biggest-guaranteed tournament to take place was Godfather XI, which is currently in its 11^th edition and offers INR 20 Lac GTD prize pool guarantee along with a chance to win a 7 Lac Aussie Package. With a total of 392 entries, last night’s Godfather collected INR 21 Lac + prize pool. After several hours of intense battles, it was Gaurav Sood aka ‘gauravarod’ who eventually championed the event after beating ‘avinkon’ in heads-up to win his first Godfather for INR 4.96 Lac.

Post his win, we caught-up with the eventual winner and he said, “It feels really nice to ship it for the first time after a couple of FT finishes in the same and a 3rd place finish at best before this.”

“I started off slow and steady and then picked-up chips in the later stages and I was in top 5 stacks throughout. I was 3/4 on the FT though, where I was at 600k and chip-leader was at 3 million, but I managed to chip-up steadily and gained 1/4 position and was cruising post that,” added Sood

 Talking about his live poker plans, Sood said, “I’ll be attending WPT India 2019 and playing all the events there. So, really looking forward to it.” 

When asked about his preparations for the 3.25 Cr. GTD WPT India Main Event, he said, “Preparations are the same, putting in work and refining your game. It’s a 3.25CR. GTD event, the biggest guaranteed in India as of now. So, looking forward to play well there and clinch some live titles as well.”

 Last night’s Godfather paid out to top 43 finishers. Online regs in Bhavye Mittal (4^th for INR 1,60,000), Arun Shankar (7^th for INR 55k), Prabhat Paliya (9^th for INR 32k) managed final table finishes. The other known regs who also finished deep in the event were Vaibhav Sharma (13^th for INR 25K), Kunal Sharma (15^th for INR 20k), Sandeep Tulsyan (16^th for INR 20K), Godfather X winner – Ayan Ray (18^th for INR 17k) and Ujjwal Narwal who exited the event in 22^nd place for INR 15k.
