Indian players are doing pretty well at the ongoing Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam. While the biggest story at the series has been the epic win of Akshay Nasa, who won the Main Event for a career-best INR 46 Lac a couple of days back, the other blistering performance was put up by Ankit Wadhawan, who finished fourth in the Main Event. Meanwhile, yet another news comes out with India’s talented pro Sahil Chutani final-tabling the VND 54 Million High Rollers at the series.
A total of 31 entries were registered for the High Rollers and part of the field was Chutani. A popular pro in the Indian poker circuit, Chutani final-tabled the event, finishing sixth for an impressive VND 84,000,000. Topping the field was Hong Kong’s Vincent Li, who finished runner-up to Linh Tran in the first High Rollers – Single Day of the series. This time, he did better by taking down the High Rollers to win VND 572,050,000 (INR 17.79 Lac) after beating Joshua Mccully in heads-up play.

APT Vietnam Championships Event: 5 Indians Advance To Day 2
The next few days are going to be exciting with the second biggest tournament of the APT Vietnam series – Championships Event VND 6 Billion GTD getting underway. Day 1A of the event took place yesterday and attracted a total of 66 runners. After 8 rounds of play, only 36 advanced Day 2. Leading the lot was former APT Vietnam Player of the Series (POS) – Terry Nguyen (219,000). Closely following the local player was Filipino Kim Michael Enriquez who bagged 193,800 chips.
Many Indians were seen in action and five of them headlined by Abhinav Iyer progressed to Day 2. India’s 1st solo WSOP bracelet winner Iyer bagged seventh largest stack of 131,600 chips, while Yasheel Doddanavar (120,000), Vivek Rughani (98,700), Meherzad Munsaf (94,300) were all above the average stack of 91,667 except Laksh Pal Singh who bagged 32,000 chips to advance to Day 2.
