Launched back in January 2018, the Godfather has grown into the most popular online poker tournament on the platform. A total of 11 editions of Godfather have been hosted and over INR 19.5 Crore prizepool has been distributed so far. Just a few days back, poker players bid farewell to the Godfather XI series that featured 9 Godfather tournaments, with each tournament offering INR 20 Lac GTD prizepool. To make it even more exciting for players, the tournament series also offered a 7 Lac Aussie Poker Package, which included 5 Lac towards tournament buy-ins + 2 Lac towards travel expenses.
Starting on 26th September and ending on 24th November with a 7 Lac Aussie Package SnG Finale, the Godfather XI series turned out to be a grand success with an impressive 3700 + entries, which generated a massive INR 1.8 + Crore in the total prizepool with as many as 400 players receiving a piece of the prizepool. It saw a total of 9 winners walk away with hefty prizes, namely Chirag Bhardwaj aka ‘mahikk’ who shipped Godfather XI twice, Gaurav Sood aka ‘gauravarod’, Deepak Singh aka ‘Peacelover’, Sumit Sapra aka ‘Hammer_Head’, Uttam Kumar Sinha aka ‘chinunew’, ‘xoredvoid’, ‘jayadeepreddy9’, and Chennai pro Aditya Sushant who shipped the last Godfather of the series.
The series culminated with a 7 Lac Aussie Package SnG Finale on 24th November 2019 where all the 9 Godfather XI winners competed against each other for the 7 Lac Aussie Package. In the end, it was Uttam Kumar Sinha who managed to outlast all his opponents and win the Aussie Package.
The Godfather XI series turned out to be a hugely profitable one for Uttam Kumar Sinha who not only shipped the sixth tournament of the series for INR 4,96,594 but also went on to win the 7 Lac Aussie Package SnG Finale and earn an impressive 7 Lac Aussie Poker Package. The upcoming poker player – Chirag Bhardwaj shipped two tournaments – the 1st and the 4th Godfather XI tournaments to become the second most profitable player of the series. Another player who impressed was the well-known reg in Sahil Mahboobani. He scored three final tables, including a runner-up finish in the 7th Godfather XI tournament where he lost the heads-up battle to online regular ‘xoredvoid’.
