Austria’s Gregor Muller topped a 706-entry field in Event #67:$500 Limit Hold’em of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online to walk away with $45,102 and his maiden WSOP bracelet. With already a bracelet and 10 FT finishes, Indians have been making their presence felt at the series. The most latest FT score came in this event as India’s ‘bemyfriend’ finished 3rd for $30,680 (INR 23 Lac).
With two players eliminated on the final table bubble, the FT began with only eight players. It was India’s ‘bemyfriend’ (4,389,164) who started the FT as the chip leader. Initially, it looked like India is going to get its second bracelet at the ongoing series but all hopes were dashed as ‘bemyfriend’ fell just two places short of the coveted title, finishing third. Unfortunately, his strong hand A-Q lost to Muller’s Q-6. A six fell on the flop and that was enough for the eventual champion to win the pot.
After ‘bemyfriend’ exiting in the third place, the heads up play between Gregor “soulsntfaces” Muller (9,095,920 chips) and Brunno Botteon (8,544,080 chips) began with the former holding a slight lead. The 30-minute long heads-up match eventually ended, with Muller taking down the coveted title.
The final hand of the tournament saw Botteon with 7c 6h and Muller with Qs Js.The board ran out 7h 4c 4 Qh 9c, giving Muller higher two pair to win his first WSOP bracelet and a $45,102 in top prize.
In total, the top 98 players paid out from $335,350 prizepool, including Anson “Tara@0z” Tsang (12th for $3,488), Connor Drinan (14th for $2,557) and Julie “MonkeyKlein” Klein (32nd for $1,534).
