The Indian Poker Series (TIPS) Season 3 being hosted in collaboration with the Spanish Poker Festival (SPF) is scheduled to run from 3-10 February 2020. The first event – Spanish Cup €50,000 GTD – is a wrap with Spain’s Miki Vea Garcia claiming the title for an impressive €11,800 after a 3-way deal.
Yesterday’s turbo flight – Day 1C pulled in a total of 222 entries, taking the total field to 874 entries to cross the specified guarantee and eventually take the total prize pool to an impressive €83,030 (~INR 65.03 Lac). Only 68 players among them managed to advance to Day 2 from the third and final flight and among them was Team India’s Avneesh Munjal, who bagged up a stack of 130,000 chips.
Day 2 of the event kicked off yesterday at 3pm and it saw a total of 198 runners returning to the felts. The top 95 finishers made money in the tournament. While Spanish nationals dominated the money list, there were several Indians who scored. Team India’s Himanshu Dewan busted in 15th place for a payday of €796 (~INR 62,355). Prior to him, Manish Goenka exited in 71st position for €278 (~INR 21,779) and Kanishka Samant hit the rail in 94th place with €245 (~INR 19,191). Unfortunately for Jaydeep Dawer and Avneesh Munjal, they exited the event empty-handed.

SPF €500 High Roller
Running alongside with Spanish Cup was the €500 SPF High Roller event . Day 1 of the tournament registered a total of 116 entries. After full day’s play, the field came down to 72 players advancing to Day 2. Spain’s Cuack ended the day’s play with the largest stack of 570,500. He is followed by his fellow country man Jorge Martin with 410,000 chips and Germany’s Mephisto with 399,500 chips.
From Team India, four players, namely in Kanishka Samant (162,500), Avneesh Munjal (151,000), Jaydeep Dawer (101,000), and Himanshu Dewan (72,000) progressed from Day 1.
