We all know that the World Poker Tour (WPT) has partnered with partypoker for so many live tournament stops in the past. Since 2018, the two brands have jointly hosted several marquee poker festivals and WPT has now taken this partnership to a new level by announcing a WPT Online Series.
This is for the first time that WPT will be hosting an online series in partnership with partypoker. The series is set to take place from May 10 to 26 and it will comprise of 10 events, including the Main Event, a WPT500 Online Event, a WPTDeepstacks event, a High Roller and a Super High Roller event.
At a time when Coronavirus is forcing all major tournament brands to cancel or postpone scheduled stops, the decision for WPT to host an online series sounds to be a wise idea. Keeping the deadly Coronavirus in mind, WPT is pulling out all the stops to ensure that this debut online series turns out to be a huge success. The series boasts $15 million guarantee, including a $5 million Main Event.
Commenting on the WPT Online Series, WPT CEO Adam Pliska, said, “WPT and partypoker are proud to break new ground for both of our brands with the first WPT Online festival. Players from around the globe can look forward to the opportunity to play in World Poker Tour events from the comfort of their homes at all buy-in levels.”
