Singapore’s Alex Wei Xiang Lee Wins APT Online 2020 Main Event For $91.353

The virtual felts across the world are brimming with action. The inaugural Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2020 Online Series at GGNetwork’s Natural8.com is attracting players from Asia and beyond. Over 35 tournaments have concluded so far. Headlining the schedule yesterday was the APT Online Main Event that crowned a winner in Singapore’s Alex Wei Xiang Lee, who walked away with $91,353 in prize money.

The $200,000 GTD Main Event of the marquee online tournament series was the star attraction. Running between 3 – 5 May, it featured 5 starting flights. It took around five hours for the eventual champion to emerge. After ‘Kryptonite8899’ going out in the third place, Alex Wei Xiang Lee aka ‘DblBarrel’ entered the heads-up with 3:5:1 ahead of his opponent ‘Olekonjole’. While the latter managed to double-up once, Lee continued his dominance. Eventually, it was all over with Lee shipping it with Ks Qh out drawing Ad 3s. Lee earned the APT Guardian Trophy and also earned enough points to grab second spot on the APT Player of the Series leaderboard. The newest champion is 4th in Singapore’s all-time money list with $990k in live cashes.

Event 31: Monster Stack $30,000 GTD

The $300 buy-in Monster stack drew a total of 254 runners across two flights and created $71,527 in prize pool, more than the double of the guaranteed prizepool. The event has three starting flights. Flight A drew 115 entries out of which 41 survived and Flight B attracted 139 entries with only 50 progressing. The third starting flight is set to start today, 6 May at 16:00 (HKT). The overall chip leader is ‘Dostoevsky’ with a stack of 247k in Flight A, while ‘-MortenVM-‘ is second with 232k stack.

Event 32: High Rollers $30,000 GTD

The $1000 buy-in event did exceptionally well, attracting 117 entries and generated $111,150 in prize pool, tripling the advertised guarantee. Top 17 got paid and the lion’s share went to ‘tikkapokka’ who emerged victorious after outlasting ‘mon$terDad’ in heads-up to bag $24,362 in prize money.
