Sunday night saw conclusion of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Event #19: $400 No-Limit Hold’em that attracted a 2,545-entry field to create a $916,200 prize pool. After more than 11 hours of play, it was New Jersey’s Kenny “Chopuh” Huynh who emerged the winner to claim his first gold bracelet and a career-best $133,857 score. Huynh has $212,130 in live earnings, including his previous best score of $80,298 for finishing 2nd in the 2020 Parx Big Stax XXXII in February. He had also finished fifth in the 2019 Borgata Summer Poker Open Event #16: $2,700 NLH for $69,801.
Huynh began FT in the middle of the pack. He claimed the chip lead after winning a big pot against Kenneth “KBconcepts” Phillips, and then went on to eliminate three players in “namhtiw1”, Hunter “Hunt_Dizzle” Frey and Sang “youngkoi” Lee to finally enter the heads-up with a 2:1 chip deficit.
After “610610” eliminating Vincent “meatball44” Ablahani in third place, he entered the heads-up as the chip leader with a 25 Million stack against 13 Million chips held by Huynh. Despite starting with a chip deficit, Huynh fought hard and took the chip lead. He eventually closed it out in a hand where both players had trip sixes, but Huynh actually improved to a winning straight on the river to ship it.
Shawn “100Grand” Berthiaume bubbled the tournament in 372nd place and among some notables to finish ITM were Dave “dunningjrugr” Alfa (99th – $1,282.68), Mike “The Mouth” Matusow (88th – $$1,374.30), Matt “Berkey11_S4Y” Berkey (75th – $1,465.92), Ryan “bitc0in” Riess (70th – $1,649.16), Donna “dd817” DiCrescento (43rd – $2,830.22), Alexander “amzzzz” Ziskin (23rd – $4,397.76), Taylor “AyeTayTay24” Laran (16th – $5,497.20), and William “Potrippper” Klevitz (11th – $8,887.14).
