The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Series has crowned a dozen winners so far and the latest to join the elite list of the winners at the ongoing series was YouTube poker vlogger Ryan ‘joeyisamush’ Depaulo who was playing from inside his car parked in a New Jersey Whole Foods parking lot. He took down the 12th tournament of the series – the $500 The BIG 500 NLH after outlasting a field of 2,427 runners (1,624 unique and 803 rebuys) to bank $159,563 prize.
Depaulo entered the final table with the chip lead and went all the way to eliminate five of his final table opponents to eventually reach heads-up with Britain’s Jack ‘EarlGrey’ Salter. The heads-up began with Depaulo holding 26.5 Million against 20 Million of Salter. However, the latter scored a massive double, and it looked like he would ship the title, but Depaulo reclaimed the lead. Finally, Salter’s A-J ran into Depaulo’s pocket queens. The board 2-2-10-3-3 brought no help for Salter and he had to bow out in second place for $98,621, while Depaulo shipped the title for $159,563.
With a total of 2,427 entries, the tournament garnered $1.092 Million in prizepool that was shared by the top 371 players. Some notable players to finish ITM in the tournament were James “meatsweats” Carroll (221st – $982.93), Daniel “DNegs” Negreanu (205th – $1,092.15), Kevin “ImaLuckSac” MacPhee (144th – $1,310.58), Max “MaxSparrow” Pescatori (108th – $1,419.79), Katie “kateline” Lindsay (57th – $2,402.73), Nick “duckflush” Pupillo (19th – $5,242.32), James “mig.com” Mackey (15th – $8,300.34), and the final table bubble boy Spencer “PrideEgoBalz” Christenson (10th – $10,593.85).
