The tournament pulled in a total of 1,061 entries to create a prize pool of $2,519,875 with 152 players making money. Walking away with the lion’s share of the prizepool was Brazil’s Leonardo “Babaehduro” Mattos who took it down for a massive $399,047 after defeating Christopher “RambaZamba” Putz (2nd for $298,296) in heads-up. Prior to this win, Mattos had also finished in 216th place finish in Event #33: $1,111 Every 1 for COVID Relief [Caesars Cares] at the series.
India’s WSOP bracelet Abhinav ‘OBellaCiao’ Iyer finished 56th for $7,502 (~INR 5.61 Lac), while Patryk ‘weedsmoker93’ Poterek bubbled the tourney, leaving the remaining 152 players for at least $5,478.
Aku Joentausta (24th for $12,084), Stephen Chidwick (38th for $8,779), Kittu Kuo (84th for $6,411), Event #50 champion Enrico ‘GTOExploiter’ Camosci (94th for $6,411), Chris Moorman (111th for $5,478), Alex Foxen (139th for $5,478), Davidi Kitai (141st for $5,478), and GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu (152nd for $5,478) were some notable players to finish ITM in the tourney.
Daniel ‘Razer2311’ Rezaei ($10th for $22,946) bubbled the final table. Following him was Yiannis ‘GreekFreaker’ Liperis (8th) who was eliminated by Pedro ‘mrsweets29’ Madeira after his ace-nine lost to Madeira`s ace-queen. Madeira continued his momentum and went on to eliminate two players in quick succession, sending out Fabiano ‘MarkyAurelio’ Kovalski in 7th place and Kevin ‘withered350’ Gibson in 6th place. The next hand saw Antonio ‘nanqtf’ Pedro exiting in 5th place.
A little later, Nethanel ‘natykkk’ Klein ran king-jack into Madeira’s pocket jacks that held up to bust Klein in 4th place. Exiting in 3rd place was none other than Madeira. He moved all-in with pocket eights and was called by Christopher ‘RambaZamba’ Putz who held A-K that won him the pot.
The heads-up saw Christopher ‘RambaZamba’ Putz holding a stack of 30.12 Million vs. Mattos’ 22.9 million. Mattos managed to quickly chip up and take the lead to eventually bust Putz in second place. The final hand saw Putz moving all-in for 10.1 Million with 9h 8s. Mattos called with Kd 6s.
The board ran out 3c 2h Qs Ah Jh, giving the title to Mattos who banked $399,047 in prizemoney.
