Turkey’s Orhan “yirtil” Ates earned himself a spot in the history books as he topped the 3,170-entry field of WSOP Online Event #60:$525 Bounty No Limit Hold’em 6-Handed to take home his first gold bracelet and $114,584, plus an additional $65,593 in bounties. He finally defeated Austria’s Tobias “juanson” Schwecht in heads-up play who earned $82,386 and an additional $15,629 in bounties.
Currently ranked #6 in Turkey’s All-Time Money List with $933,519 in live earnings, Ates entered the final table as the chip leader and then went on to eliminate Jeff “PlayingNaked” Hakim and Caique “Redondez@” Sanches to eventually enter heads-up with Austria’s Tobias “juanson” Schwecht.
The heads-up between Tobias “juanson” Schwecht (59,911,071) and Orhan “yirtil” Ates (19,338,929) began with Schwecht holding a massive chip lead. With two early double-ups, Ates quickly gained the control and eventually took it down. On the final hand, Schwecht raised from the button with Ac As and Ates defended holding Qd 10c. Ates checked the Qs 6d 3h flop and Schwecht put out a bet with his overpair. Ates check-raised his top pair to put Schwecht at risk. Schwecht made the call and the 3d opened on the turn. Schwecht was in good shape to double up but Ates found the Qc on the river to improve to a full house and eliminate Schwecht in second place ($98,015 in total prize).
