Norway’s Trygve “FullSendWig” Leite entered the WSOP Online Event #75: $300 Double Stack NLH event with as many as 14 career WSOP cashes including five from the ongoing series on GGPoker. Earlier this month, he finished 12th in the $300 Monster Stack for $6,637 but did considerably better on Saturday by taking down the $300 Double Stack NLH event for a $130,100 and his first WSOP gold bracelet. He finally outlasted Italy’s Emanuele “BudSpencer” Monari (2nd for $101,292) in heads-up.
With a WSOP gold bracelet in Event #64 and more than a dozen of FT scores already, Team India is doing pretty well at the ongoing series. Adding to this impressive tally of scores was Indian player “Iwanashipit” finishing third in Event #75 on Saturday for an impressive $72,204 (~INR 52.80 Lac).
The tournament resulted in a juicy $991,008 prize pool, and 440 players finished in the money. Among the players finishing ITM in the tournament were plenty of Indians, including “Jugaad”(17th for $4,813), “donkish” (79th for $1,483.73), “siddlee” (90th for $1,311.89), “M26GreenWood” (113th for $1,311.89), “bhkvdr” (153rd for $1,159.87), “aakasaha” (154th for $1,159.87), “5BetNinja” (165th for $1,159.87), “OBellaCiao” (185th for $1,025.58), “Upswinger” (259th for $906.77), “thehulk” (299th for $801.72), “pokerplayer” (300th for $801.72), “Laavin” (345th for $801.72), “gm-ind” (364th for $708.86), “Neel” (365th for $708.86), “bhishm” (373rd for $708.86), “Jksisme” (390th for $708.86), “AifeKaife” (397th for $708.86), “FUCQ” (432nd for $708.86), and “Alex_52” (414th for $708.86).
Final Table
The first player to exit the final table was Connor Drinan whose pocket fives ran into Trygve “FullSendWig” Leite’s pocket aces. Following him were David Mitchel (8th), Jiahuan He (7th), Paul Lozano (6th), Gregory Ronaldson (5th) and Eliyahu Elyshiv (4th). Three-handed play lasted for only 10 minutes before Leite min-raised to 2,000,000 and India’s “Iwanashipit” moved all-in. Unfortunately for “Iwanashipit”, Leite had the goods with As Kc and he quickly called. Jh 8s of “Iwanashipit” was behind on a flop of Kd 9d 9c. The turn 4c and a meaningless 5h ended Iwanashipit’s run in 3rd place.
Leite began heads-up with a 2-1 chip lead. The dual lasted for about 55 minutes before a champion was finally crowned. On the final hand of the dual, Monari limped and called Leite’s raise to 6.4 million. The flop came Qh 6h 5s which saw a bet of 4,356,000 from Leite and a call from Monari. Leite bet 16,434,000 when the Jc fell on the turn and Monari quickly called. The 8d on the river completed the board and Leite checked. Monari moved all-in for his last 44,617,657 after rivering two pair with Qc 8c. But Leite snap-called and tabled 10h 9d for the straight to clinch the title.
