Event #80: People’s Choice Event [Pros Vote] of the 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online series is in the books with the two-time WSOP Circuit ring winner, Jeffrey Dobrin, winning it to earn his career-first WSOP bracelet, a $189,666 and a WSOPE package. It was a well-deserved victory for Dobrin as he has been one of the most consistent grinders since the start of the series and has already raked up an impressive 15 cashes. The tournament allowed players to re-enter it three times. Dobrin fired two bullets and played aggressively on the final table to claim the bracelet.
Dobrin started the FT as chip leader and played aggressively to outlast several accomplished players on the final table to eventually ship the tournament. After a few setbacks on the FT, he started the heads-up against French pro Idris Ambraisse with 26.9 Million against 33.3 Million of his opponent.
However, Dobrin continued his aggression and moved ahead of his opponent. Finally, it all ended with Dobrin’s Kd Kc beating out 9d 9c of Ambraisse on the final hand. Ambraisse had to settle for $144,998, while Dobrin banked $189,666 in top prize and the coveted bracelet for his grand win.
The tournament paid out the top 350 places with a min-cash of $1,259 from the $1,372,560 prize pool. It turned out to be a profitable event for Team India with over dozen of Indians finishing ITM, with “raavan” posting deepest run with his 20th place finish worth $5,354 (~ INR 39.28 Lac). Several international poker icons made ITM finishes, including GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu (40th for $2,768) whose jack-ten failed to beat out “ClockworkElf”’s pocket queens during 28th level.
