India’s Pulkit Goyal became the fifth player to be crowned champion at the ongoing $100 million guaranteed 2020 GGPoker World Series of Poker (WSOP) Winter Online Circuit. Goyal came out on top of a field of 1,041 entries (619 unique and 422 re-entries) in Event #5: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha of the series to claim the top prize of $82,052 (INR 60.0 Lac), his biggest score both online and live.
Prior to this, Goyal had five WSOP cashes to his name with three of the cashes coming at the King’s Resort in Rozvadov, while the remaining two scores coming during the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Bracelet Events earlier this year. With the win, Goyal has eclipsed his recorded career cashes and is following in the footsteps of fellow Indians Nipun Java, Abhinav Iyer, Nikita Luther, Aditya Sushant and Kartik Ved, who all have a WSOP bracelet. Along with $82,052 prize, he will receive a WSOP Winter Circuit Ring.

Only top 179 spots were paid from the $593,370 prizepool and Goyal defeated South Africa’s Loucas “Rage Monkey1” Kourtoumbellides in HU who walked away with a consolation prize of $61,530.
Other notable names at the FT included Austria’s Karl “Rossz” Schedlberger (3rd for $46,141), Nikolay “boryan4ik” Prokhorskiy of Russia (5th for $25,947), and Brazil’s Eduardo Pires (9th for $8,205).
