The World Poker Tour (WPT) has wrapped up its inaugural DeepStacks (WPTDS) Taiwan festival in Taipei City. The 11-day long festival running from 11 to 21 December was hosted at the highly popular poker room, Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association aka CTP Club. 27 players walked away with WPT event trophies, with Huang Chyan Pu claiming the Main Event Champion’s Trophy and NT$ 1,317,800 (~US$ 46,800). Among the high roller champions, Chi Jen “Justin” Chu banked the largest payout worth NT$ 550,000 for winning the NT$ 58,800 buy-in WPTDS Super High Roller.
Local pro Zong Chi He won the ‘Player of the Series ’ title along with the US$ 1,500 WPT Passport and a POS Trophy for his stellar performance at the 23-event series. Here is the list of his scores:

Headlining the inaugural festival was the NT$ 15,000 buy-in WPTDS Taiwan Main Event that drew an impressive 526 entries (Day 1A – 154, Day 1B – 144, Day 1C – 197, & Natural8 Online flight – 31) across the three starting flights played live and a Natural8 online flight to build a hefty NT$ 6,887,970 (~US$ 244,200) in total prize pool. Walking away with the lion’s share of the prizepool was Huang Chyan Pu who defeated Chuan Lung Lai (runner-up for NT$924,800 -~$32,812) in HU to bank the festival’s single largest score of NT$1,317,800 – $46,756) and the customized WPTDeepstacks trophy.
Also at the final table were the festival’s WPTDS High Roller champion Po Wen Fang and hot running local pro Zong Chi He. Both fell at 3rd and 4th, earning NT$ 594,800 and NT$ 413,500 respectively.
The top 64 players were paid out in the tournament with a min-cash being worth NT$23,700 (~$841). Lun Wei Hsia bubbled the tournament. Thereafter, eliminations were quick, with Chen Yu Hung (10th place for $3,885), Chung Chie Kuan (11th for $3,885), Justin Chu (12th for $3,885), Wu Yan Jie (14th for $3,090), Patrick Liang (21st for $2,193), Natural8 qualifier Chen Li Ming (30th for $1,352), Cheng Yi Lin (34th for $1,352), and Li Lun Hsiao (47th for $983) all falling before the final table was reached.
