Phil Ivey has started his Super High Roller Bowl Europe campaign in a thundering fashion. The The 10-time WSOP bracelet winner outlasted a star-studded field of 48 and a final table featuring some of the biggest names in poker to take down Event #1: $25,000 Short Deck for $408,000. The 44-year-old Poker Hall of Famer dominated the final table action, scoring four knockouts to win the coveted title.
In the heads-up for the title, Ivey clashed with Stephen Chidwick who could not go all the way and finally settled up for the runner-up payout worth $264,000. On the final hand, Ivey held Kc 10c, while Chidwick Ah Qs. The board ran out Kd 9d 8s 10d Ac, giving Ivey two pair to win the title for $408,000.
This win took Ivey’s career earnings to over $31.20 Million. His two previous tournament wins also come in Short Deck events. He won the $50,000 No Limit Short Deck Hold’em at the partypoker MILLIONS Sochi Super High Roller Series in Sochi in 2020 and shipped the HK$250,000 No Limit Hold’em – Short Deck Ante Only at the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Montenegro in 2018.
