One of the 11 online bracelet events at the WSOP 2021, Event #5: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Championship concluded on Sunday with Kazuki “hyahhoo3” Ikeuchi taking it down to claim his first bracelet. He topped an 854-entry field to claim the coveted bracelet and a $152,797 top prize.
The victory marked Ikeuchi’s 42nd career WSOP cash. He has three cashes this fall at the live WSOP. His biggest score in a live event this month was a 17th-place finish for $7,301 in Event #26: $1,000 Freezeout NLH. On Sunday, he outlasted some of the best players in the game such as Daniel “DNegs” Negreanu (96th for $1,614) and David “dwpoker” Williams (70th for $1,998).
Hailing from Japan, Ikeuchi topped a strong final table featuring Qinghai Pan, James Gilbert, Mike Azzaro, Anthony Pagan, Dan Stavila, and Simon Levy. He finally entered the heads-up for the title with “dwilbs” who could not go all the way and had to settle for the runner-up payout of $94,460.
The tournament created a massive prize pool on the back of 555 players, plus another 299 rebuys.
