The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2021 is in full swing at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. All eyes are now on Event #67: $10K Main Event World Championship, which is running six starting flights for the first time in WSOP history. Monday saw Day 1E of the most prestigious event. The fifth of the sixth flights of the event drew 797 players, with only 592 of them advancing to Wednesday’s Day 2CEF. David Gerassi bagged the Day 1E chip lead, with the former WSOP Main Event champions Joe Hachem and Scott Blumstein also advancing to Day 2CEF’s play.
An impressive 10 Indian players have made it to Day 2, with Kalyan Chakravarthy being the latest player to join the list. He bagged the 41st biggest stack on Day 1E (156,600) and is placed second behind Vidur Sethi (226,200) among the qualifiers from the Indian contingent. The poker pro from New Delhi has three WSOP cashes to his name, including a final table finish in Event#82: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Double Stack at the 2019 WSOP. His best live cash had come in the year 2018 when he shipped the DCPS 2018 Event #99 – $600 NLH Monster Stack $750,000 GTD for $147,233 (INR 1.01 Crore). He presently has $425,527 in live earnings and will be eyeing a big score in the Main Event.
Chakravarthy joins the nine other Indians who have already advanced to Day 2 from previous flights.

The Main Event has been a great success so far with already a decent turnout of 5,315 entries from Day 1A – 523, Day 1B – 845, Day 1C – 600, Day 1D – 2,550 & Day 1E – 797. As many as 3,917 players have qualified for Day 2. One more flight is still to go, with late registrations also available on Day 2.
There are two Day 2s for the advancing field. All survivors from Day 1A, 1B, and 1D will play Day 2ABD on Tuesday, while those advancing from Day 1C, 1E, and 1F, will play Day 2CEF on Wednesday. The final flight, Day 1F, starts at noon (local time) on Tuesday, with Day 2ABD kicking off at 11 AM.
