Asian Poker Tour (APT) Summer Festival Hanoi 2022 – Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) is turning out to be a blockbuster series for Team India with already two APT trophies in their kitty. The latest Indian to win a trophy was Sajal Gupta who topped 27 entries to win Event #10: High Rollers Single Day for VND 335.67 Million (INR 11.45 Lac) and become the second Indian at the series to win a trophy after Jude Praveen Kumar who had won Event #8: Super Deep Stack Turbo for VND 98.19 Million (INR 3.34 Lac).
Gupta joined the High Rollers Single Day after busting the Main Event and the decision paid off handsomely. Down to three-handed play, Gupta’s K-9 prevailed against the A-2 of Hoang Thai Son.
The heads-up began with Nguyen Quang Minh holding chip lead over Gupta. However, the latter doubled up three times to quickly snatch the lead and ship the title. On the final hand, Gupta held pocket nines against Nguyen’s pocket jacks. The former flopped a set, which was enough for him to win the title. Gupta walked away with first APT trophy and VND 335,670,000 in top prize money.
The VND 32.50 Million ($1,385) buy-in event generated a VND 785.70 Million ($33,500) prize pool that finally was shared by the top five players with Nguyen Tuan Hung becoming the first ITM player.
