Following its 13-day long run, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Summer Festival Hanoi 2022 – Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) concluded with 29 players crowned as champions. The inaugural series was a resounding success and drew in as many as 2,776 entrants (437 unique entries ) across its 29 events, building a massive VND 43,802,290,000 (~$1,867,500) in total prize money awarded at the series.
The festival had a dream ending for the Main Event champion Vamerdino Magsakay. The Filipino pro topped the leaderboard and took home the prestigious APT Player of the Series (POS) award. This was his second APT POS title this year as had won it in the APT Phu Quoc Vietnam stop in April as well. In addition to the trophy, he earned a POS Ring, an exclusive watch and $800 for his win.
Malaysia’s Chang Xiang Guang (899.26 points) placed second in the POS leaderboard standings, while India’s Ankit Jajodia (881.40 points) finished in 3rd place. Jajodia enjoyed a phenomenal run at the series, posting four final table finishes in the series. Headlining his deep finishes at the festival was a 3rd-place in the Main Event and another 3rd-place finish in Event #5: PLO. His other two cashes included a 6th place finish in the Head Hunter and an 8th place finish in the Monster Stack.
