Following 12 hours of play on WSOP.com, the 2022 WSOP Online Event #7: $500 NLHE Deepstack came to a close on Sunday with Sane “Ooohwee213” Chung from Los Angeles, USA, taking it down to win his maiden WSOP bracelet and $149,729. He overcame a vast field of 2,162 entries, including Dylan “Aurelius” Smith who walked away with $92,553 for his runner-up finish in the event.
Sane “Ooohwee213” Chung (6,218,277) started the final table with the 6th largest stack and played some top-notch poker by eliminating five players. He kicked off the FT in a thundering fashion by busting Matthew “Nibbles99” Pierce (9th). He continued on his elimination spree and busted Nick “CashUsKlay” Schulman (6th), Vuong “Luckyboy201” Do (5th), and Kevin “kingkung99” Kung (4th).
Up next, Dylan “Aurelius” Smith eliminated Kahlil “dripseason1” Francis in third place bringing it down to the heads-up with Chung (34,971,504) holding a massive lead over Smith (2,988,496). As expected, the heads-up battle did not last long and ended soon with Chung taking it down.
On the final hand, Smith bet 2 Million and Chung moved all in. Smith snap-called with his pocket aces, which unfortunately lost to King-Jack of Chung on the 10-4-7-Q-9 board where the latter hit a runner-runner straight to win it for $149,729. Smith settled for the $92,553 runner-up payout.
The event generated $972,900 in prize pool and paid out the top 330 players with a min-cash of $778. Three Indians finished ITM in this event, namely Neel Joshi (143rd for $1,167), Ashish Ahuja (192nd for $973), & Akash Malik (204th for $973) who picked up his first cash at this year`s series.
