Christopher Philippou took down the 2022 Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Cyprus Event 7: $25,000 PLO at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel, besting a field of 32 entries to earn the title and a career-high $270,000. Investment manager Talal Shakerchi (2nd for $190,000) in the heads-up.
The $25,000 buy-in event collected $800,000 in the prize pool. The top six places were paid out with a min-cash worth $56,000. The nine-time WSOP bracelet winner Erik Seidel was the first to fall after the bubble burst. He was followed by Gregoire Auzoux (5th place) and British poker pro Stephen Chidwick (4th place). Up next, Yuriy Anisimov bowed out in 3rd place, setting the heads-up dual.
The heads-up battle began with Event #5 fifth place finisher Talal Shakerchi holding a healthy chip advantage over Christopher Philippou. However, Philippou was able to race ahead and ship it.
