Following the scintillating action on Day 3 that saw 60 players return from the guarantee-crushing field of 411 entrants, the APT Da Nang Vietnam VSOP 2022 VN₫ 10 Billion GTD Main Event playing out at the ballroom of the Risemount Premier Resort is finally down to the eight-handed final table.
42 players sailed past the money bubble and the play was halted after the final table was reached, following the elimination of Maksim Skripkin (9th for VN₫ 270.67 Million) exiting as the FT bubble.
The cards will go up in the air for the VN₫ 9.9 Million buy-in Main Event Final Table at noon today. Vietnam’s Truong Khanh will begin the play as a chip leader with a stack of 2,590,000 (103BB).
Khanh is in terrific form. He has already finished third in the series-opener Event #1 Mystery Bounty VN₫155,110,000 and will be aiming for the title today. Returning second in chips for Day 4 will be the South Korean player and Day 2 front-runner Doo Sik Nam with a stack of 1,655,000 chips.
Khanh’s fellow countryman Dinh Van Tien (1,525,000 (61 BBs) is also a player to watch out for, having won a series title in the Event #3 Deep Stack Hyper Turbo. Other players to watch out for are Canada’s Alexander Puchalski (545,000 -21BBs) and reigning APT Korea Incheon Main Event champ Farhad Aghayev (385,000 -15 BBs), both of them will be returning as the shortest stacks though.
All the eight final table players will be gunning for the lion’s share of the VN₫11,960,100,000 (~$502,235) total prize pool. While each of them is guaranteed a payout of at least VN₫324,800,000 (~$13,640), they will have their eyes on the massive VN₫2,598,290,000 (~$109,128) top prize.
Team India
From Team India, three players, namely Paawan Bansal, Aditya Agarwal and Akshay Kapoor cashed the event, with Bansal running the deepest, finishing 12th for VN₫ 187.96 Million ($7,983.02). The first Indian to fall out was Akshay Kapoor who finished 35th for VN₫ 75.54 Million ($3,205.61). The veteran pro-Aditya Agarwal ran deeper, finishing 13th for VN₫ 156.64 Million ($6,652.80) and fetching him his first cash at the stop. Running the deepest among the trio was Paawan Bansal who placed a few places short of the final table, exiting in 12th place for VN₫ 187.96 Million ($7,983.02).
