Indian poker superstars are taking over the international poker felts. Ankit Ahuja, a seasoned poker pro, is presently in the spotlight following Pradeep Sharma‘s power-packed exploits in the WPT Prime Taiwan 2023. Ahuja competed in the record-breaking €1,100 Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) Main Event 2023 and finished 5th, collecting a staggering €177,810, his best live score this year.
Ankit was eliminated by the start of the final table chip leader Lucian Cohen. Ankit on the button pushed the majority of his chip stack in his final hand, and Cohen called from the small blind. Ankit put the remainder of his stack in the middle after the Ks Jd Qh flop and a bet from Cohen.

The turn 2s and the river Jc cards provided no help ending Ankit’s dream run in 5th for €177,810.
Apart from Ankit, there are several other Indians taking part in the European Poker Tour (EPT) 2023 including Bharat Janardhan who had cashed on Day 2 of the Estrellas Poker Tour High Roller 2023, Paawan Bansal, Jagdeep Singh, and Apoorva Goel. Notably, Akint is by far the only Indian to make the Estrellas Poker Tour Main Event final table. Prior to him, Nikita Luther, India’s sole female WSOP bracelet winner, had notched up a deep run in the tournament, finishing 16th for a €27,930 payday.
