The GST Council’s decision to levy a 28% tax on all player deposits does not seem to have much of an impact on turnouts across poker platforms. Adda52.com, India’s leading poker site, continued to attract a high number of players, with guarantee-crushing turnouts across its Thursday marquees. The biggest draw of the day on the poker site was the 25 Lac GTD Godfather that fared pretty well.
Offering immense value with INR 25 Lac guarantee for a buy-in of INR 5,500, the Godfather tourney received an overwhelming response with 552 entrants competing in it and generating a guarantee-crushing INR 27.60 Lac in prizepool. In the end, the WPT Prime India 2023 50K Freezeout NLH champion Adithya “Rlox1” N G stole the show, winning the event for INR 5.35 Lac. Close on his heels was Karan “gogikaran” Malhotra who placed runner-up for INR 5.13 Lac, courtesy heads-up deal.

5 Lac GTD Monster Turbo 5L
The other marquee of the day was the 5 Lac GTD Monster Turbo 5L. The high-value tourney had a modest buy-in of INR 2500 and drew in an impressive 237 participants, resulting in a hefty INR 5.33 Lac prizepool. Abhinav “Borntogamble” Menon proved his mettle, winning the tourney for INR 1.45 Lac. Finishing right behind him was Divyansh “divyansh2906” Chandra (2nd for INR 85,320).
