The latest edition of the USOP Danang Super High Roller saw a notable surge in turnout, boasting a robust field of 177 competitors and amassing an impressive prize pool of VN₫ 13,735,200,000 ($569,700 USD), marking it as the second-largest festival tournament in terms of the prize pool.
The event took place from November 22 to 23, 2023, with 177 players entering the high-stakes event with a buy-in of VN₫ 88,000,000 and surpassing the guarantee of VN₫ 2,000,000,000 ($82,950).
Ultimately, the final showdown culminated in a thrilling head-to-head with China’s Song Li emerging victor after besting Australia’s Yita Choong. Li secured the coveted top prize of VN₫ 3,376,500,000 ($140,000 USD), while Choong took home the runner-up payout worth VN₫ 2,119,100,000.
Notably, the event held significance for India as Vishal Ojha showcased an impressive performance. Ojha, starting the final table with 1,095,000 chips, secured the eighth spot, earning an impressive VND 443,600,000. Notably, he is a defending USOP Main Event champion who had recently finished 105th for VN₫ 14.20 Million in the Mini Main Event, which was won by Germany’s Oliver Schulze.
