Phil Ivey, the Captain of Team Americas for the World Series of Poker(WSOP) Asia Pacific Caesars Cup annunced his team today on his Facebook page. In a post he casually mentioned, ” Proud to be World Series of Poker(WSOP) APAC Caesars Cup Captain. Here are my picks: Phil Hellmuth, Greg Merson, Daniel Negreanu and Antonio Esfandiari.”
The line-up for Team Americas is a very strong one with 13 time Bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth a part of it. Greg Merson is the current WSOP Main Event defending champion and also a member of Team Ivey. Negreanu has won the WSOP Bracelet 4 times while Esfandiari has more than $24 Million in live tournament earnings and is leading the pack of poker players in earnings.
While Joe Hachem will captain Team Asia Pacific and Sam Trickett will head Team Europe but none of them has disclosed their squad yet. The WSOP APAC Caesars Cup will be held as part of the current WSOP APAC in Crown Casino Melbourne on April 13.
