2 days of some electrifying performances on the poker tables at Asian Poker Tour(APT) Manila 2014 has brought forward the champions as in Lim Dae Hoon (₱202,000 at NLH Re-Buys + 1 Add-On event), Kunal Shetty (₱92,000 at Ante Up for Charity) and Bryan Huang (₱185,000 at Mix Game Event).
The opening ceremony on 10th September at Resorts World Manila by the CEO Jeff Mann marked the beginning of the 8-day long poker tournament. The 1st event, ₱4000 NLH Re-Buys + 1 Add-On drew 75 players with some notable players like the current APT POY 2014 leader Sam Razavi, APT Philippines 2014 Main Event Champion Feng Zhao and many other poker pros like Bryan Huang, Tetsuya Tsuchikawa, Euryd Rivera and Mike Takayama. After 9 hours of tussle, the Korean player Lim Dae Hoon won the title with ₱202,000 in a heads-up match with the Frenchman Arnaud Yvon Messager.
Meanwhile, various satellites like “One Time” Main Event Step 1 satellite (₱550 buy-in), Main Event Super Satellite w/ Re-Buys + 1 Add-On (₱2,500 buy-in) and Main Event Mega Satellite (₱5000 buy-in) added more excitement in the air. Later on Day 1, the Indian poker star Kunal Shetty triumphed at the Ante Up for Charity event adding ₱92,000 to his earnings. The charity event generated ₱115,000 donation for the “Feed a Child, Build A Nation” programofRotary Club of Makati North.
Day 2 at the APT Manila was dominated by Bryan Huang of Singapore who won ₱185,000 in the Mix Game PLH / PLO event. The High Rollers event saw a great battle of poker tactics throughout the day leaving 11 players to resume the game on Day 3 with Ronald Chun Long Yu (151,000 chips) in lead. Sim Jae Kyung aka Simba emerged out to be the winner of the 1st edition of newly added event Open Face Chinese Pineapple 60 Max.
Players are on their toes on the Day 3 as it will host last round of satellites for the Main Event and other major events like Head Hunter (₱15,000 buy-in) and the Ladies of Poker (₱8,000 buy-in) exclusively for poker divas.
