Poker is back in action in the city of dreams, Macau with Asia Championship of Poker Platinum Series VI kicking off today evening. A huge pool of poker players have already assembled for this 4-day poker tournament hosted by PokerStars Live.
This tournament elicits small stake players from around the world due to low buy-in featured events throughout the series. Numerous poker pros will whet their poker strategies in this tournament in order to warm up for the Asia Pacific Poker Tour 8 – ACOP. The tournament features 4 freeze out events with buy starting from HK $1000. Below is the full schedule of the series getting underway today:
Highlighting the series would be HK $5500 Main Event which promises a prize pool of HK $500,000. In addition to the prize money at the top spot, poker players will battle to make their way into the Top 10 of main event finishers as they will qualify for a Freeroll event, ACOP Platinum Series Playoff. All the top 10 players from each of the ACOP platinum series held this year will join the online poker battle in this Freeroll event on 5th October to grab a HK $100,000 ACOP Main Event seat.
Peter Au from Hong Kong clinched the title in last ACOP platinum series in July this year where he took away HK $231,300 defeating a field of 214 players. Indian poker players hold a fair chance in this series but a confirmation of playing from anyone is still waited. However, it would be interesting to watch if any Asian poker player grabs the title again or the series crowns someone from the outer world this season.
